Project Manager in Construction and Civil Engineering

The Fortifications Agency is now looking for project managers in construction and civil engineering, located in Stockholm or Eskilstuna. The Fortifications Agency is a government authority tasked with providing our customers within total defense with adapted and secure properties. We own, build, and manage a unique property portfolio across Sweden – from modern premises to technically advanced facilities.
Our project department is responsible for construction and civil engineering investments and is growing in line with our customers' needs. Here, about 140 dedicated employees work, of which 90 are project managers. Lead socially important construction projects aimed at increasing Sweden's defense capability
We are now looking for project managers for our project management units with assignments in the Stockholm region and nationally. As a project manager, you will lead and coordinate projects in various parts of the construction process. We are looking for different competencies in project management and experience from the early stages of the construction process to the implementation of construction and civil engineering projects, aimed at various assignments and customers. Recruiting units are located in several places within the Stockholm region and Eskilstuna.
The role includes leading investment projects in the field of construction/civil engineering, coordination, management, or participation in large complex property development projects. The security issue is important, and you should enjoy following processes and documenting.
The role involves collaboration with colleagues, customers, contractors, consultants, and authorities. Our projects are spread throughout the region, which means that travel, training, and meetings in different locations will occur in the job.
What do you offer us?
We are looking for someone with experience leading construction or civil engineering projects and who feels comfortable taking responsibility or being part of the project's entirety – from prerequisite studies within infrastructure, technical feasibility studies, planning prerequisites in early stages to final solutions. You have knowledge of contract law as well as LOU and LUFS. Experience as a project manager in municipalities/government agencies, real estate companies, construction consulting, or contracting. The role requires a high level of security awareness, good knowledge of Swedish both spoken and written, and good familiarity with administrative IT systems. Since travel is part of the job, a valid driver's license (B) is a must.
It is advantageous if you have previously been responsible for the project's entirety regarding time and cost, such as site manager, or have experience from roles such as property manager/program manager/property manager/property engineer/physical planner or project manager focused on urban planning. It is also advantageous if you have experience in project management within construction projects with heavy installations, infrastructure, land, and geotechnics. We would also like you to have experience from a position in a government authority. If you have leadership experience, being a certified project manager IPMA or equivalent is a plus.

You are a relationship-building person who finds it easy to express your opinions, is structured, organizes, and plans your work well. You follow established processes and complete what has been started. Furthermore, you are solution-oriented and quickly find solutions to emerging problems.

About the employment
The position is a permanent employment, with placement in Stockholm or Eskilstuna. Swedish citizenship is a requirement, as employment at the Fortifications Agency is security classified. This means that a security review and background check will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act.
